The director's son, Carlos, has been just born. He is the sweetest baby, but his grandmother is worried about his dark skin. His grandfather is proud his grandson was born in Russia and wants to celebrate and drink to the health of the newborn, but Carlos’s grandmother won’t allow it. The film conveys all the tender and painful things that happen in Carlos’s first year, honestly and with a good dose of humor.
