The series contains news agency releases, excerpts of RFE Research Reports, transcripts of monitoring of the Bulgarian National Radio and Television, newspaper clippings and copies of articles from scientific publications.
The series includes extensive information related to agriculture, armed forces, various parties and organizations, economy, culture, industry and state and party apparatus in Bulgaria. The files on ethnic minorities in the country, dissidents, persecution and purges of the opposition, resistance to and criticism of the regime, and anti-Western propaganda are of particular interest.
The records contain some later copies of newspaper clippings dated 1920, 1942, 1945, 1948 related to the above mentioned subjects.

The subject entries Relations with Other Countries and Foreign Trade -- due both to the specificity of the field they cover and to the numerous files -- are arranged alphabetically by geographical name within the numerical code and thereunder chronologically.
