Mihály Csákó was the founder of educational research in Hungary, who organized and led the Educational Sociology specialization at the Faculty of Social Sciences at ELTE University over many years. He also established and led the Research and Training Center for Education and Youth Sociology at the faculty.
It was important for him to educate young people to be committed to democracy. From 2009 on, he was a mentor for the Independent Student Parliament. At the 6th Student Rights Conference of the Independent Student Parliament, Csákó gave a lecture on school democracy, student councils, and student rights.
The series includes, among others, the Declaration of the Network for Academic Freedom, letters to members of the Hungarian National Assembly about the establishment of the Network, and calls to parents who wanted to act for the future of their children. He conducted interviews with teachers about the National Core Curriculum (NAT), made notes, and created leaflets.
Csákó served as editor-in-chief of the educational policy journal Educatio, where he published his writings on educational policy, student rights, education for democracy, and on the Student Parliament.
