The records contain clippings drawn from the numerous Yugoslav and foreign press, news agencies releases, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty research papers, and excerpts from Yugoslav radio broadcasting on persons who were prominent government and communist party officials, dissidents and intellectuals.

Particularly extencive are files relating to Josip Broz Tito, Stane Dolanc and Milovan Djilas. Although the biographical files cover the entire 1948-1991 period, the files from the 1970s and early 1980s are the most numerous.
