Some of the material dates back to the earlier period as parts of them were transferred from the RFE/RL Research Institute East European Archives to support the activity of the newly organized institution in Prague.
The series contains news agency releases, excerpts of RFE/RL Research Reports, transcripts of monitoring of the Bulgarian National Radio and Television, newspaper clippings and copies of articles from scientific publications.
Arranged by subject code according to the Latin aphabet and thereunder chronologically. Most of the subject entries have subheadings and some of them, for example, Politics: Foreign Relations and Politics: Political Parties -- due both to the specificity of the field they cover and to the numerous files -- are arranged alphabetically by geographical name or name of the party within the subject code and thereunder chronologically.
