Series DescriptionThis series contains transcripts of broadcasts by the two main two Polish radio stations monitored by the Monitoring Section of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty on a daily basis.
The series includes transcripts of broadcasts on important events, commentaries transmitted by the Polish Radio, and occasionally by Radio Tirana, Radio Moskva, Radio Gdansk, Radio Szczecin, Radio Belgrad and Radio Polonia. In 1968 the Monitoring section monitored the broadcasts of Legálny Československý Vysielač. Beginning with May 1, 1991, the programs of RFE in Poland were monitored as well.
Most of the topics are related to the domestic and foreign news, as well as political commentaries and summaries of cultural and social events including the speeches made by the country's leaders on different occasions..
Copies of the monitoring transcripts are also crosslisted into the subject files.
